Lovely Synth-Pop, very successfull indeed and played million times on every radio station, so it is understandable that some people might be annoyed by the song. Still cool melody, very recognizable and representative for the 80s pop music.
Worth to mention that it might be possible that the song may never became such a hit, if there wouldn't have been the famous music video (who doesn't know it? The Singer is a charakter in a comic and in the end he becomes reality and the girl who is reading the comic gets him), that was quite unique for that time and is getting in your mind if you here the song for sure.
