2 In A Room

2 In A Room are a duo of Rafael "Dose" Vargas and Elvin "Floodlight" Ovalles. Both are of Dominican heritage, and were born and raised in Washington Heights, New York. Originally, 2 In A Room was formed in 1987 by Freestyle producers of Cutting Records as an instrumental group, until Rafael "Dose" Vargas met with Benji Candelario and was asked to do a demo. Extremely impressed, they were signed with Cutting Records right away. They became best known for their singles in 1990, "Wiggle It" and "Do What You Wanna Do". In that same year, they released the first full-legnth album 'Wiggle It'. This earned 2 In A Room widespread airplay and some critical acclaim. 2 In A Room became extremely successful and were considered a hybrid for their clever merging of House Music and Hip-Hop Music. Their success would continue on until 1995, when they released the second full-legnth album, 'World Party', with the singles "El Trago", and "Ahora Es". They released one last single as 2 In A Room in 1996 called "Carnival", which unfortunately didn't fare as well as the previous singles.

In 1996, another member, Winston Rosa, had joined the group, forcing them to change their name from '2 In A Room' to '740 Boyz'. Under the new name they still were contracted with Cutting Records and released a self-titled album for '740 Boyz' under their same label from when they were '2 In A Room', Cutting Records. Unfortunately, Cutting Records did not promote it well, and it never recieved proper recognition. They decided to end their contract with Cutting Records, however, they did not dismember.

In 1997, the original 2 members of 2 In A Room, as well as the extra member that was added when they became 740 Boyz, decided to change their style of music completely and head back to their Dominican roots, abandoning Hip-House and conquer Merengue and Bachata. Two more members were added, and then they became 'Fulanito'. All five members were very close friends from Washington Heights, New York.

In 2004, they have a new album 'La Verdad', and still continue to release music as 'Fulanito' at today.
