Danity Kane

Profile:

Danity Kane was an American girl group signed to Bad Boy Records. They were formed on the MTV's Making the Band 3, which is the third installment of the reality series that documented the manufacturing of a modern urban girl group. The group's first single "Show Stopper" and subsequent self-titled debut album were released in 2006. The group returned in spring 2008 with its second release, "Welcome to the Dollhouse", amid continued reports of division within the five original members. On October 7th of the same year, on Making The Band 4, it was officially announced that Aubrey O'Day and D. Woods were no longer members of the group; the rest of the group disbanded soon after. Dawn Richard went on to join Diddy's twosome Diddy - Dirty Money, before ultimately releasing music as a solo artist.

In 2013, four of the five group members (O'Day, Bex, Richard and Fimbres) made an official announcement regarding their reunion at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards; however, on May 16, 2014, Fimbres announced her departure from the group, due to wanting to start her family, on the first night of their reunion tour in San Francisco. On August 4, 2014, while in a Los Angeles recording studio, a fight ensued in which Richard allegedly punched O'Day. After days of speculation, O'Day and Bex released a public statement days later announcing the group's second disbandment. On September 24, 2014 O'Day and Bex again announced that despite the group's break-up, their third and final album, DK3, would be released in October of that same year.
