Born in Rome 11 May 1931. After beginning her career as a model, winning in 1956 the Miss Universe contest in Palermo, she graduated to pop singer in 1958 winning the Festival di Napoli and, after performing at the Sanremo Festival in 1959, moving to musical comedy. She was a confident star, brimming with an explosive charge and contagious joy. Her debut in theatre is with Chiamate Arturo 777 with Erminio Macario, later pairing with Carlo Dapporto for Monsieur Cenerentolo and Il Rampollo (1960/61). Her TV debut in 1961 is thanks to L'Amico Del Giaguaro with Gino Bramieri and Raffaele Pisu, which made her a household name through to 1964. On stage in 1965 she was acting first in Il Naso Finto and with Raffaele Pisu and Gino Bramieri in Italiani Si Nasce, repeating her success with Paolo Ferrari in the comedy Valentina (1968) and then with La Trottola with Corrado and Sandra Mondaini.
