air is the spoiled, indulgent, carefree children of kraftwerk. think of kraftwerk as the parents of techno, who worked hard to hone and develop electronic music in its beginning stages. their music seems more robotic, rigid, yet startlingly innovative. their progeny would be air, breezy and rich, not having to deal with the trouble of breaking new ground and finding acceptance. maybe the suburban kids like me can relate -- our parents didn't grow up as "lucky," but worked hard to make money, and now we, their lovely children, live on fluffy clouds of affluence. but air still turns out beautiful, never-heard-before music anyway, because air's music is literally out of this world. it's for floating in space on a "moon safari." air is absolutely brilliant. they are floaty and disco-y and nouveau-retro. and it's french! ^_^ --scifiwasabie@aol.com
