The Acorn Arts was just one of a number of aliases used by the team of Matt Clayden and Mark Williams, but became the most famous when Billy Nasty remixed "Body" which was followed up by their own hit remix of the D.O.P.'s progressive techno anthem "Groovy Beat" which appeared on Guerilla releases in both the UK and the US.
Matt & Mark were very early proponents of the progressive techno movement and founded their own label, X-Gate Records where they released music (under different aliases) with influences ranging hard trance to downright housey.
