Acrophet was an American thrash metal band that formed in 1986 by Jason Mooney. Their music was not very original but still technically competent and they released two albums through Triple X Records ("Corrupt Minds" in the autumn of '88 and "Faded Glory" in April '90) before calling it quits. Drummer Jason Mooney auditioned twice for Slayer and made the finals in 1996 and 2003. He also auditioned for Sacred Reich in 1995 and Edel America recording artists Killing Culture.
