Afrotrance

AFROTRANCE is a duo consisting of RAMIN and PIT , both exponents of the Frankfurt Techno underground and both previously active in solo mode. They met in 1992 through a shared liaison with PCP Records and decided to combine their efforts in the project Afrotrance .

Ramin, a classically trained pianist and percussionist, started his dance career in 1989 under the guidance of Talla 2XLC on the label New Zone (with the track You Can Run) and went on to record for Logic, PCP and R & S Records. His Club hits Essence Of Ecstasy and Brainticket are still amongst the finest examples of European trancecore music. Furthermore Ramin is active as composer of soundtracks for documentary films and conducts psycho-acoustic research in his own studio in Frankfurt, in collaboration with DJ's and artists from different disciplines.

Pit has been exploring the boundaries of Dance music ever since he came across his first synthesizer. Stemming from the same experimental school as Ramin, his work is characterised by a positive yet mystic feel. Giving full meaning to the name they chose for their collaboration, the duo's first release is a seamless fusion of African rhythms and refined trance - three tracks of pure bliss to be enjoyed by frontroom ravers and dedicated clubbers alike.
