Agalloch was formed in 1996 in Portland, Oregon - in the heart of the Pacific Northwest. Their music has "bridged the gap between gothic doom, black metal, neofolk, post rock, and industrial / ambient soundscapes."
On Wednesday, April 23, 2008, Agalloch announced that they have decided to part ways with record label The End Records (after their 10-year contract ended). Their immediate plans are to "remain low key, work on new material, and look towards the future."
