Alexander East now lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota. When he was young he taught himself how to play many different musical instruments and sing. After spending his early years in the recording studio, he learned how to produce and engineer his own works. Alexander has now made a name for himself on a world wide scale with appearances on several different record labels including his own Planet East Recordings outfit.

This guy wandered in my house one morning with my friend Rick Preston in S.F. . I had absolutely no idea who he was! He very politely asked to play me on the other 2 decks we had. After 10 minutes i stopped and could do nothing but enjoy and admire his deephouse tunes he proceeded to lay down. By far, an unbelievable mixer! And without a doubt one of the most polite and frendliest persons I have ever met! Thanks Alex!

It looks like Alex is doing some stuff under is brand new label, Planet East. Watch for the new single So High coming out. There is a really deep and beautifully written dub track by Alex and another by Brian Gerrard on the flip side.

This is the most talent brotha I know, his beats are so funky and deep. When I hear his songs at the club in Chicago, especially "jest 4 me" I will be the first ones on the dance floor. To me this is a star in the making.
