Perhaps the most important artist in New Orleans' music industry since the early 1960's, Toussaint worked with an incredible amount of artists as diverse as Elvis Costello, Band, The, Dr. John and Meters, The.
He wrote and produced songs like From A Whisper To A Scream (1971), Irma Thomas' Ruler Of My Heart (1963) and Lee Dorsey's Working In A Coal Mine (1966).

Allen Toussaint was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
