True innovators. The Aloof were (unfortunately disbanded) made up of members of The Sabres Of Paradise, Red Snapper, West London Deep, and lead by vocalist Ricky Barrow. Rickys soulful vocals floated over the devious lines of thick dub and trip hop beats with sultry ease like that of a crooner in a futuristic blues club.

"Cover The Crime", "Sinking" are classics. "Seeking Pleasure" was lacking in ingenuity and originality and their weakest release. Fortunately, the comeback and final album "This Constant Chase For Thrills" was a throwback to the earlier form and was a great way to go out.

I have never heard any other artist or act that quite melded these forms of music into the unique sounds that The Aloof created.
