Anaal Nathrakh

Real Name:
Irrumator (Mick Kenney), V.I.T.R.I.O.L. (Dave Hunt)
Profile:
Anaal Nathrakh was created for one purpose - to be the soundtrack for armageddon, the audial essence of evil, hatred and violence, the true spirit of necro taken to its musical extremes...

In the beginning of 1999, Anaal Nathrakh recorded their first demo, "Anaal Nathrakh". Later the same year in September, another demo, "Total Fucking Necro", was produced. They made a deal with Leviaphonic Records and both demos were released on a disc titled "Total Fucking Necro - Double Demo Assault". The release was a hit in the underground. Never before had they heard such raw, brutal music before. Even the legendary Mayhem praised them after they had heard Anaal Nathrakh's cover of "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas".

The band's debut CD, "The Codex Necro", which was released in 2001, was voted best newcomer of 2001 and best album of the year in the magazine Terrorizer. Anaal Nathrakh's latest album, "When Fire Rains Down From the Sky, Mankind Will Reap As It Has Sown", followed in 2003. The EP featured the legendary Attila Csihar (Mayhem, Aborym, Tormentor) and Seth Teitan 131 (Aborym).

Here is the singular gap where time and space collide, Anaal Nathrakh. The music inside a black hole. The roar from chaos and the rabbit hole that goes directly into hell
Meet the very place where the most virulent and plagued black metal, the purest raw and cacophonous grindcore and the more insidious and interventionist machinery and unsettling atmospheric elements from industrial mercilessly spin. Three types and forms, three different epochs, and a whole new trinity.

The elitist black metal crew abhors em but that doesn't deter them to experiment with the typical savagery and blast beat insanity from the genre, the most nihilistic and misanthropic side of it along with the blackest amongst black feelings and wishes. All this sweetly complements the typical guttural accents that mark it's path to the grindcore influence (some morbid and necrophiliac incidences appears from time to time) and then the inhuman (yes it's a cyborg actually playing the drum set, how else could be!) playing the speedy tempo of the drum set.
Add to the recipe, a guitar player that is not satisfied with the current set of black metalish tremolo, but also throws some death metal hooks and a whole subtle electronic accompaniment that intensifies the dirty and plagued atmosphere created.

It is not just the speed and grinding voice that makes them special, after all this is something that abounds in the metal genre. It is something more, something churning, despaired, rabidly unsettling, intensely addictive yet not ease to find.
I have a theory, perhaps this is one of these bands that allows you to cast out your dark side.

The band has evolved through the time. From their powerful and overly intense discharges present in "The Codex Necro" where the most basic rage expanded with no end and no change except for the rhythm sets and powerful guitar canvas. To the more conducted vortex of hate filled in "Eschaton" where small passages of epic proportion like the chorus present in the song: "Between piss and shit we are born" appears giving all that crackling and churning tone a pace of harmonics.
Latest offering: "Hell is empty, and all the devils are here" finds them in their most mature experimentation, amplifying their epic side found in the previous album and emphasizing on the subtle more harmonic death metal approach without losing an apex of their black metal and grinding power and always mantaining the atmosphere that has made em unique.
Glory to the chaos they bring. Bringers of chaos!
