Reviews & Discussion

Review by Crijevo Mar 27, 2005 (edited over 7 years ago)
Looking back to Animotion, it hardly gets me to any other than 'Obsession' - a song that besides a contageous melody, improved itself a major hit by the very choice of title. Appealing word is the key to success, or at least a moment of success which Animotion secured themselves sometime in the mid 80s. 'You're my obsession - who do you want me to be to make you sleep with me?'... Now that's what we might call philosophy but it's not. It's that ol' beating around the bush when a certain trend appears and along come faceless imitators that compete with the latest fashions of the day. Except 'Obsession' which IS unresistable to dance to (but only DANCE to), the group has no other card in their sleeve to play. Too much a synth version of Europe - better than 'The Final Countdown', but much, much worse if you expect them to beat The Human League.
