Artesia are a duo from Brocéliande, France, comprised of Agathe M. (keyboards, vocals) and Gaëlle D. (violin). Founded in 2001 by Agathe, Gaëlle joined the band in September 2003, and the two recorded their first demo "l'Aube Morne" in September 2004. In December 2005, Artesia signed a deal with the Prikosnovenie label.
In 2008, Gaëlle decides to leave the band for personal reasons. Loïc C. (from the band Belenos) joins her and becomes a real member; Coralie L.-C., a young violinist, joins them too, and they record a third album which came out in March 2009.
