Born November 6, 1949 in Artemisa, Pinar del Río Province, Cuba. In 1967 he joined Orquesta Cubana De Música Moderna, and in 1974 he entered on Irakere. On the late 70s he played with Dizzy Gillespie. In 1981 he founded his own band.
