Aske Jacoby founds in 1979 Aske Jacoby Band and later changes the name to News. After recording 2 albums "Stereo Magasin" in 1981 and "Sæt Sejl" in 1982 he leaves the band in 1983.
Later in 1983 he started playing guitar in the backing band for C. V. Jørgensen and throughout the 80’s and 90’s played with Sanne Salomonsen, Thomas Helmig and Kasper Winding among others.
In 1985 he founds Danseorkesteret together with Jørgen Klubien.
He has also released albums under his own name; his debut as solo artist "Not only for the royalties" form 1991. In 1997 a live album form Copenhagen Jazzhouse called "Clubbing" and in 2004 "Transfer Power".
