B. Fleischmann

Real Name:
Bernhard Fleischmann
Profile:
Born 1975 in Vienna, Austria.

Austrian producer who has successfully established himself as a crucial element to the European electronic experimental scene with his two 1999 releases, Pop Loops For Breakfast CD on the Charhizma label (Austria) and the Sidonie EP on Morr Music (Germany) and Charhizma. He has also worked remixing the US rap group Subtle. Some of his songs are overtly political statements, like those on Welcome Tourist, which are statements about Austrian politics and modern democracy.

B. Fleischmann produces very digital, very German-sounding, electronic soundscapes with spacial electro beats and synthesized noise - all created on one device. His sound his summed up with different electronic “instruments” creating harmonies and fine melodies within a unique blend of soundscapes. The different kinds of generated noise should not disturb the harmonies of the songs, but should find their way to communicate with the other sounds - tracks to cruise to, during a long night, where the next morning is already near.In some of his songs he uses very political statements like in 02/00 on Welcome Tourist, as a statement on austrian politics and modern democracy.

If you are a fan of German minimal techno, and your ears are craving a sonic digression from the 4/4 norm, B. Fleischmann’s melodic minimalism and corky sequencing might be the ideal settlement. His music combines techno, electronica and ambient with hiphop tempo dopebeats. Similar to Alias (3) and Nathan Fake.

Reviews & Discussion

Review by Found_a_lover Dec 29, 2006 (edited over 5 years ago)
When I first listened to this musician I said to myself; this sounds boring. But now, I realised this sounds all very emotional. I actually feel that the word, knobturner in the description is insulting. This is a great artist who makes sensitive electronic music and which feels familiar to most guitar sounds. Its something to start a day with. Its easy to get into.. drum sounds are simple, and so are most of the electronic sounds he used. I love it.
