Beat, The (2)

Profile:
Ska group formed in Birmingham, UK in 1978/9. Their line-up included David Steele (bass) and Andy Cox (guitar), later part of Fine Young Cannibals and who would record in their own right as Two Men, A Drum Machine And A Trumpet. The rest of the line-up comprised Dave Wakeling (vocals, guitar), Everett Morton (drums), Ranking Roger (toasting vocals) and Saxa (saxophone).
The English Beat is the name they were forced to use in the US.
