Born in Manchester, England, on 12 May, 1961, Billy is best known as the guitarist and, along with Ian Astbury, one of the remaining founding members of The Cult. Billy now lives in Los Angeles, California.

Billy started out in punk bands The Nosebleeds (with Stephen Morrissey), Studio Sweethearts (also known as Slaughter And The Dogs), Lonesome No More and, finally, Theatre Of Hate, before forming Death Cult with Astbury. He also guested for some gigs in band Lavolta Lakota in 1985.

Since the break-up of The Cult in 1995, (the short-lived reunion in 2000 aside), Billy has played in Coloursound (with Mike Peters (The Alarm), Craig Adams (The Mission) and Scott Garrett (ex-The Cult)), Dead Men Walking (with Mike Peters, Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Slim Jim Phantom (Stray Cats) and Kirk Brandon (Spear Of Destiny) and The Cardboard Vampyres (with Jerry Cantrell). 2006 Billy has been working on a side project called Circus Diablo with Billy Morrison, Ricky Warwick and former Fuel (3) front man Brett Scallions on bass with a debute album to be released this summer.
