Steve Rachmad's very first releases came out in 1993 under the pseudonym Black Scorpion. “I’m Scorpio in horoscope, so you can figure out where the name came from” said he about the alias.
Persistency became the mark of his debut as a producer. He sent his tapes to ESP label several times without success, but one day they were convinced about the work and his first EP was released. “Those were different times. It was hard to approach people, but once you broke through the boundaries they would really listen to your tracks. Nowadays it’s all much harder. Obviously, with the computer generation also the number of producers is immense, and it’s hard to get noticed. I was lucky that there were not so many guys doing that sort of music then, so it was easier to find my way to the right people” claimed Steve about the electronic music producers' first steps.
