Blackbyrd, a.k.a. Niggy Pop, was born Gershwin Hutchinson. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California, where he was a member of the psychedelic hip-hop group Darkleaf. In 2005 he struck out as a solo vocalist under the slightly different alias of "Blackbird" and released Bird's Eye View, produced by Paris Zax.
