There are Drum&Bass heads that think 1995 was the ultimate year for the music and most everything after is a decline. And then there are those who have loved the music since before it was called Drum&Bass and will love it til the day they die. Blame is surely in this camp. His tunes were amazing before Drum&Bass and they continue to be amazing.

Now out from under the yoke of LTJ and Good Looking Records, Blame has all the creative freedom he could have hoped for and his art reflects this. His tunes are hardly sterile and he's going places he never could have gone while part of the GLR camp. Tunes like Judas, Medusa, Sabertooth, Red Alert, and The Search show both depth and power. There is still atmosphere at the core of these tunes but instead of being surrounded in fluffy GLR clouds, it's wrapped in rusty barbed wire and steel girders. If you can "get" Blame's vision under the different styles, you'll be happy with his current work and excited for future releases-even if they depart from the past.

I also share the opinion that the golden age of this great d'n'b oldtimer is over.
He was a real pioneer but now he is no more.

The years of contribution to the Good Looking Organisation were his best by far although he did well under his earlier partnership with JUSTICE too.
When you listen to such amazing tracks as "Alpha 7", "Overhead projections", the seminal "Visions of Mars" and "360 click", "Spectre", "Point 4" and the driving "Sigma" (those last three from "Sigma ep"), the two versions of the anthemic "Mechanism" and finally "Forest of pagodas", "Lifeform" and the stunning sound innovations and drum experimentations of "Firestorm" (on "Firestorm ep"), when you have all those timeless tunes in mind I believe you can't but be extremly disappointed by his actual releases.

It seems that today he's playing with the ridiculous toys of a soundboy.
What a pity.

An absolute legend! My favorite period were his days at Moving Shadow where he produced tracks such as 'Music Takes You' and 'Feel The Energy'. Very versitile in almost anything he turned his hand to;his later work on Good Looking showed a very mature attitude with deep atmospherics and complex drum programming..wonderful! Although nowadays he produces more 'rinse out' productions they still maintain the ruffness of his latter work,albeit less interesting and involving.

Blame used to be one of my favorite producers up until he started producing with The Pedge as KOTP. Although his studio skills are still great, the old Blame of Moving Shadow, GLR/LGR, etc. is gone. Now he makes noisy, sterile sounding drum and bass. I miss the deeper, more atmospheric side of Blame. And by the way, Blame is one producer (to correct the above comment).
