Oliver Holzwarth has, for all intents and purposes, been the fifth member of Blind Guardian since "Nightfall In Middle-Earth," but has not been officially added to the line-up in case Hansi should decide he wants to start playing bass again, in the future.

Thomen Stauch left in 2005 after 20 years claiming dissatisfaction with the direction the band had taken on their, then, two most recent releases.
