| Profile: | Almighty Bloodbath has become one of the most important Death Metal bands thanks to it's glorious, over-popular members. Indeed, Bloodbath isn't just another brutal grind/death band: Bloodbath is a Death Metal all-star act.
Starring Åkerfeldt from Opeth, Dan Swanö from Edge of Sanity (also in Nightingale and Karaboudjan) and Anders Nyström and Jonas Renske from Katatonia, the enormous sideproject takes over the small elements that make up the member's other bands to deliver a punishing, old-school, brutal display of typical Death Metal. No Prog-Rock influences, no Doom-ish melodies, no clean vocals: just pure, Florida-type Brutal Death Metal.
The band released their debut EP "Breeding Death" in 2000 and followed in 2002 with their first full length: "Resurrection Through Carnage". After the release Mikael Åkerfeldt was asked to leave the band. Peter Tägtgren of Hypocrisy took his place, Martin Axenrot joined as drummer and Dan Swanö switched to guitar.
The band then released the second album, "Nightmares Made Flesh", in 2004.
