Broken Rules

Real Name:
David Flores
Profile:
Straight out of California USA comes the talented Broken Rules. Growing up in the shadow of Los Angeles left its imprint on young David Flores. While many venture to California in search for their breakthrough in the worlds’ entertainment industry, David looked the other way. Inspired by mixed tapes & mixes on the internet he got into contact with an underground form of music called hardcore; a style generating massive raves in Europe, yet very small in his own country. Inspired by this sound, he started dj-ing and ended up playing the few parties in his city through the years.

While in hiding he started producing the music he really wanted to hear. Not only Europeans can do hardcore! After sending several demo’s across the Atlantic his sound finally got heard. Recognition came in the form of several releases, ranging from ‘abstract dancin’ techno on Men In Motion to uncompromised industrial hardcore tracks on the Pendeho, Industrial Movement, Raving Nightmare, and Industrial Strength labels. Broken Rules has an ear for fresh sounds and an untapped source of energy to produce. A buzz resulting in several upcoming releases as well as putting the Los Angeles scene on the map. His style describes itself best as industrial hardcore without the typical breakdowns and melodies. With more Industrial Strength releases in the pipeline and his star rising, Broken Rules delivers trashing dj-sets with an unspoiled approach to hardcore.

Reviews & Discussion

Although this guy hasn't had too many releases, he's made quite some noise with his tracks. He has a distinctive techno sound/groove in his hardcore and some pounding industrial and techno tunes. He's definitely a guy to look out for in the near future!
