Reviews & Discussion

Review by wyvern909 Sep 05, 2007
For the general audience the name of Lassi Nikko might not say much, but the handle Dune/Orange might ring some bells - especially for those who were into or around the demoscene.
(For those who don't know what the demoscene is, it is very well documented e. g. on Wikipedia.)

Lassi was one of the pioneers in the musical part of it - inspired by the sound of Warp Records ('95-96), his musics sounded like nothing else then - causing 'wtf?' moments for nearly everyone...

It is perhaps not a surprise that in his professional music career he appeared on Warp (highly deservedly so). On the other hand, he left such an impact on the demoscene that his sound became the standard for quite some years.
