Grant Nelson under his Bump & Flex guise made some of the best Uk Garage going. He's produced some belting 2 step mixes for the likes of Artful Dodger, Doolally, James Brown, Lenny Fontana. All are sure fire plays. The trademark sound was crunchy 2 step breaks, some nice organ type bass grooves and some good vocals worked in there. A very club friendly sound, and of course, on a big system, the tune do sound particularly meaty.

The production was second to none, and Bump & Flex tunes were played by everybody from the Pirates upwards.

Why "Promises" was never a hit record i'll never know, because it was very very good.

Much like myself, Grant moved away from the UK Garage sound when it lost its melody and became grime. It's a shame, Uk Garage's loss is House's gain.
