Burmese formed fall 1997 by the two bassists Mike G and Mike G. John Dwyer (OCS) joined on drums 1999 as they trembled between slow downtuned sludge and high-speed grindcore with lots of feedback. They later developed a very Whitehouse influenced sound and even recorded a tribute "White" in 2002.

Today they are a six-piece consisting of Mike G, Mike G, Mark S, Tissue, Weasel Walter and Ed Rodriguez.
They are based in San Francisco.
All members so far: Mike G, Mike G, Nate G, Todd T, John D, Mark S, Mark S, Bianca S, Patrick M, Tissue, Weasel W, Ed R.
