Another comment, another praise! As so many people, I rate him so much. He has been on top of my fave DJs for so long. Incredibly, he has as much appeal to newcomers who are 18 than to 30 something like me...18 years ago! Ah, bless...
He has succeed in everything : he played house and was the best at it, he played hardcore and he people still talk about it today, then he focused on techno and trance and went to become the world best DJ, no question. Yet he has remained over the years the most friendly and down to earth man you' likely to meet. And after all those successful years, when asked what's important in life for him now, he says : "the music".
And I don't even mention the true "experience" that is attending a nightn where he is playing...
I love him, he enlighted many a good night of mine, yes I absolutely love him.
One day books will be written about him. Let's see in 20 years time.

As with all Djs Carl Cox has played many styles over the years. For me his greatest period was 1991-1993, he played hardcore breakbeat at all the rave clubs and it just suited his DJing style. If you can check out some of the live mixes from that era and you'll see what I mean, in particular 'Live@The Edge, Coventry 1993' and 'Live @Club Kinetic 1993'. They're superb.

CARL COX IS GOD!!!
What can I say about Cox?
He is the best dj in the world.
I was lucky last year in december to hear, see, feel him play. Me and my two friends decided to go 500km from our town to see him play in club Aurora, Primosten, Croatia. Man that was best spent money in my life! When he started to play I was in other world. The feeling that I had was something I can not put in words. The music he played was something I never heard before, not even on his live sets I have on my computer. Every thing he done that night was perfect. To know what I am talking about you must see him play. No other dj or drug, can make you feel like him. On that night he was payed to play 2h30min but he played 4h:30min of best music in the world. That was the best party in my life and I just hope the next time I see him he will play that way.

Carl will stay an all time favourite in the european scene, not only for his skills as a dj, but certainly because the man is one of the most kind people to be around. Not absorbed by the succes he had, he will always be remembered.

One of the truly finest, if not *the* finest. People who fail to see his greatness when it comes to diversity may sometimes regard him as a bit cheesy, however, while I listen to a shitload of other techno producers/djs, there are few, if any who can keep up the energy (like he does) while still retaining that underground:ish and funky feeling. Sometimes, he's in a class of his own.

Even though he plays different styles of electronic music (housey, techno, trancey), he's not what I consider an easy dj, ie. you won't like it the first time you hear it. At least I know I didn't!

Ps. My words! Not some Magazine description.

One of the most versatile DJs in the world but generally regarded as an underground techno God
Clubs: Ultimate B.A.S.E., Essential Mix Tours, gigs just about everywhere in the world.
Famous For: Being Carl Cox, playing on three turntables, touring the world, being the only DJ in the world to play the turn of the millennium twice, appearing on the big breakfast and the Ian Wright show, having a cameo as a club owner in Human Traffic, and once having a headline about him that read "Big Black Cox".
Records: Early nineties album 'I Want You', various compilations including the 'F.A.C.T.' and 'F.A.C.T. 2' albums, more recently had hits like 'Dr. Funk' on his Worldwide Ultimatum label Getting Started: Bought a pair of turntables at the age of thirteen and never looked back. Made his name in the rave days of the early eighties and became the world's number one DJ in 1997.

One of Britain's finest DJ's whose years have seen him cover styles to cover any crowd with beats so fine he has remained at the top of his field since the early days.

From playing house and harder house in 94 to techno in 97 and the present day, Carl Cox has understood the way music should be played and created to a masterful standard.
