Having started out as Oliver (releasing a few demo tapes) they later changed their name to Cherry Five (releasing one, eponymous, LP) before finally settling on
Goblin. During the completion of the Cherry Five album, Dario Argento helped bring over the members to score his "Profondo Rosso" soundtrack; at which point drummer Carlo Bordini was replaced by Walter Martino and Goblin was formed.
