Punkrock band formed 1995 in Santa Cruz, California out of remnants from the bands Liquid Amber and General Handywork by Ted Bond, Heath Konkel, and Andy Snyder, who all knew each other from San Lorenzo Valley High School, and Adam Nigh. The name of the band was bassist Scott Hrapoff's "nickname" at school, where his older brother, Craig Hrapoff, was a popular jock. As the band had to put a name for them on their flyers, "Craig's Brother" was chosen as a joke and stuck, even if they've later expressed dissatisfaction with the name. Signed to christian punkrock label Tooth & Nail records, they achieved modest success with their major label debut "Homecoming" in 1998. As both guitarists left the band, a couple of new members such as Inspection 12's Dan McLintock, HeyMike!'s Steven Neufield and Juice Cabrera, as well as Yellowcard's Ryan Key had brief stints in the group, making for future collaborations between the bands.
In 2001, just before the releasedate of their sophomore album "Lost at Sea", they were dropped from the label due to a conflict with the their conservative backers, the cult "The Family". With no label, and no actual distribution of their already finished new album, exposure was scarce and sales declined. Craig's Brother soon disbanded as members kept dropping off to pursue other goals.
Around christmas 2003, they announced they were reuniting, with the basic lineup that had stuck with the band for the longest time; Ted Bond, Scott Hrapoff and Heath Konkel. An EP was released through former Yellowcard-member Benjamin Harper's own label Takeover Rock. At this point, the band had pretty much given up on "making it big", instead focusing on their family lives and jobs, in and around the Santa Cruz area.
As lead singer and songwriter Ted himself took up the role of rythm guitarist, they struggled to find a lead guitarist that fit the band, eventually meeting up with Glade Wilson in 2007. They are currently recording their third full-length album, in collaboration with former guitarist and songwriter Andy Snyder, to be released in 2010.
