Czechoslovak Radio Jazz Orchestra

Real Name:
Jazzový orchestr Československého rozhlasu
Profile:
Jazz big band of the Czechoslovak Radio, originally founded 1960 in Prague as “Taneční orchestr Československého rozhlasu” (Czechoslovak Radio Dance Orchestra, 1967–1968 also Orchestr Karla Krautgartnera (2)), led by Karel Krautgartner. Having identical personnel as the latter two, this orchestra name was used for jazz recordings and releases since 1962 until the early 1990s, usually conducted by Kamil Hála.
The orchestra still records and performs as the “Big Band Českého rozhlasu”, conducted by Václav Kozel since 2002, and featuring František Kryka as the longest active member since 1961.
