Profile:

The group was formed in october 1998 and are a five piece unit, now reduced to a trio. They're based from the northern French city of Lille. Three of the group’s members have been operating for several years under the name Tone Rec with three albums on the belgian Sub Rosa label from Bruxelles.

They all met up at the high school in 1990, and started to do music all together then. They start to do the Tone Rec [late-nineties post-rock band featuring Dat Politics’ members] project when they were at university 4 years later. The first album was released in 1997. And we did the first Dat Politics' gig in 1998.
