DJ Friction discovered his affinity for disco music in the early 1980s. Today he identifies his roots as "black" music, be it called Hip Hop, Soul, Disco, House or Electro. Working as a DJ in the late 80s in and around his hometown Stuttgart, Friction concentrated solely on hiphop, while as a producer he would experiment with different styles including jungle and electro from the mid-90s on. The commercial breakthrough came with the hiphop band Freundeskreis. After two gold records, DJ Friction set to work on his own babys, mixing his musical roots with fresh new sounds, creating incredible flows by blending disco, funk, soul, rare groove, old school and house with contemporary hiphop and R&B.
