DJ The Blade

The Grand Ayatollah Blade is an electronic musician from Telford, UK. Hailing primarily from a rock'n'roll background, he began toiling with music production in the late 90s with the help of a cheap Yamaha Bass and an old friend's second hand guitar. After being introduced to newer and harder genres of techno a little later he decided to focus his efforts on producing experimental electronic music.

Pulling from influences as diverse as Rocket from the Crypt, The Beatles, Pere Ubu, Gang of Four, The Monks, Silver Apples, Nation of Ulysses, The Sonics, Alec Empire, Cannibal Ox, Tieum, Hellfish and Shitmat, the Ayatollah's music inevitably ended up encorporating all sorts of sampling techniques.

As of 2009 he has released on UK based labels such as Wrong Music's complaints department, Marionette Records and Structural damage records.
