International recording artist DAMIAN WILD was born in the Bronx, NY and was born to sing.
DAMIAN began his career at the age of eleven as a choirboy in a local church choir, an experience he found less than heavenly:
“The hymns we used to sing in church were totally boring. I wanted to sing something soulful and funky”.
After falling from the choir’s grace (Damian still insists to this day that he had something on when he lifted his choir robe in front of a packed congregation, although reliable church eyewitnesses say otherwise) Damian decided it was either the entertainment industry or reform school, so he chose what many people would consider to be the unwise choice: the entertainment industry!
He soon appeared in several motion pictures and briefly wrote comedy for comedienne Joan Rivers under an assumed name. Eventually, he found music to be his true calling.
Damian started doing demos and session work for several chart-topping producers and songwriters . Studying voice with noted vocal coach Rona Leslie, Damian soon cultivated a three-and-a-half octave voice into a soulful blend of pop and r&b that landed him his first international single: “You’re My Fantasy” which burned up dance floors across Italy, Germany and The United States. His self-penned second Italian release on Marcon Music, “Love Won’t Let You Down” soon followed.
Damian also appeared on several dance compilations including “Stylin’ Free: The Alternative Dance Compilation” performing another self-penned dance/pop song entitled “Say You Want It (Tell Me You Want My Love)” and on a HOT TRACKS underground dj compilation along with such notable acts as Moby and Sasha.
Damian's most recent dance smash “Say You Want Me” produced by dj/producer Chris “The Greek” Panaghi and featuring remixes by Guido Osorio, of the world-famous production team “Razor and Guido”, has become a staple of dance floors and radio mix shows all over the globe .
Musically, his inspiration runs from motown to the disco era to Madonna and the 80’s dance scene.
“Music is always changing,” Damian says, “so I am always finding new influences.”
In an industry where performers come and go, Damian Wild is here to stay.
