Dan Carlin, Jr. is an American music director, editor, supervisor and conductor.

He co-founded and for 25 years was CEO of Segue Music, a music post-production business. During that time, Carlin collaborated with artists like Julie Andrews, Tony Bennett, Francis Ford Coppola, Georges Delerue, Danny Elfman, Whoopi Goldberg, Whitney Houston, Smokey Robinson, Queen Latifah, Phil Ramone, Alan Silvestri, Tina Turner, Usher, Hans Zimmer, and many others.

Between 2004 and 2007, Carlin served as executive director of the Henry Mancini Institute. In addition, he spent two terms as chair of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (the Grammy organization), and has served for over 20 years on the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Music Executive Committee.

In 2007 Carlin was appointed Chair of the Berklee College of Music film scoring department.
