Das EFX

Real Name:Andre "Drayz" Weston, Willie "Skoob" Hines
Profile:Formed in Petersburg, Va. by Skoob and Drayz, Das EFX quickly rose to the forefront of the hardcore rap scene. After coming in second place at a talent contest, Erik Sermon signed the pair to a record deal in the early '90s. Their first offering, Dead Serious, cut right to the chase, triggering off a handful of speedy lyrics and controversial themes. Straight Up Sewaside appeared the following year, followed by 1995's Hold It Down. The group was really derailed by the popularity of their own style, which was taken up by enough other people to make the originators no longer as potent.
