Born 24 June 1951 on a military base in Hanover, Germany.
David Rodigan ("Roddy", or "Ram Jam") is a British radio DJ who also performs as a selector for his sound system and plays all over the world. Known for his selections of reggae and dancehall music, he has played on many British stations including Radio London, Capital 95.8, and BFBS (British Forces Broadcasting Service) Radio 1. Currently, and in fact since the stations legal inception in 1990, he's played on Kiss 100 London (broadcast nationally via DAB radio and DVB (terrestrial, satellite, cable) television broadcasting).
He is, what could only be described as, an institution in the reggae world, and has a knowledge of the history and roots of the music which is unsurpassed. He was also asked to lecture on the Red Bull Music Academy in 2002, and in 2006 Rodigan was given the accolade of being added to the UK Radio Academy hall of fame.
