Profile:
David Todd began his DJ career in 1971 at Fire Island's Ice Palace. While playing at Manhattan's Cheetah, among other spots, he became the first working DJ to take a promotion and A&R role at a record label, remixing "Shame" and "I Don't Know If It's Right" by Evelyn "Champagne" King and "Stubborn Kind of Fella" by Buffalo Smoke for RCA. Todd also introduced the Latin Hustle to Van McCoy, inspiring him to cut "The Hustle." He partnered with DJ Nick Martinelli to form one of Philadelphia's most powerful post-Gamble-Huff remix and production teams.

DAVID TODD is a true inspiration as one of the greatest r&b funk-based club spinners that I have ever met along with other great funk based spinners and friends of mine-Larry Levan, Larry Patterson ,Tee Scott, Danny Krivit and Walter Gibbons. As a guest DJ at my main club the Ipanema in NYC, David performed an incredible 2 minute segway mix using Prime Time's Good Times to Kellee Paterson's Turn on the Lights ---and spinning barefoot in the Dj booth in the process.
Dave had remarkable and an intense focus on the technical aspect of spinning.A great RCA disco promo man and fabulous remixer and good friend.One of his special gifts to the industry was Nowhere by artist Hokis Pokis.David was truly blessed for his ability to creatively spin records and promote them as well as remix them.
