Joel is one of the people most responsible for the rave scene's early days in Pittsburgh. Through his record shop, zine, and deejaying, his DIY ethic was an influence on alot of people here. His music is always crazy, and his Deadly Systems label was responsible for one of the first breakcore anthems, Doormouse's "Skelechairs", years before it was even recognized as a genre. His graf skills are pretty insane as well, as evidenced by the label artwork for Deadly Systems. He is a true modern underground Renaissance man.
