From soundtracking one of the most important British youth films of the 70's (Babylon) to being the powerhouse behind many UK Reggae / Lover's Rock releases, to working with the likes of Edwin Collins, Bananarama, releasing library music on the KPM label and even with the Slits... Dennises work is superbly varied.
I was lucky enough to work with Dennis when he was compiling the two Lover's Rock CDs for Kickin Music and he opened my eyes to this form of music. Previously, I had dismissed it in my youth, however, on hearing some of the gems that he and John Kpiaye had produced in the 70's I realised the error of my ways.
Anyway, Dennis is a consumate professional, has many a story to tell of the music business and is a genuinely great bloke. Having just watched Babylon once more the other day it struck me how important this man has been for Black British Music and music in general. Check out any of his releases and I'm sure you'll agree...
