Deviant Species was formed in 1997. In the first years the band was a collaboration between Santos de Castro & Paul Wright (now NRS).
Deviant Species founded Ambivalent Records with the release of its second album 'The Quest for Balojax' in 2001 which established the act as one of the luminaires of the genre.
