Dokte

Hailing from Belleville South in the Western Cape, South Africa, Dokte "regards himself first and foremost as a producer and second to that as a recording artist".

He broke off his medical studies (hence the nickname, although he does hold an MBChB from the University of Stellenbosch) to concentrate on sound engineering (achieving his diploma in 1998) and has, since 2004, been responsible for two Kallitz albums as well as active "behind the scenes" on several other rap/hip-hop/kwaito projects.

A self-released EP was made available via the internet in 2008 as an appetiser for a forthcoming album.
