Dominic has worked under several aliases, using each one for a differing sound or scheme, although he is best known under the Domu name.
One of the influential producers in the broken beat scene, often based around west London, having many influences taken from black music —new and old— and beyond always putting a spin on what has gone before.
Sadly, announced via his online blog that he would be giving up working in the music industry, 'The point is that I am no longer Domu. He is a character, always has been, and as of Friday 13th November 2009, he no longer exists.'
Reasons given included: personal reasons; difficulty in maintaining enough income due to the pervasive download culture taking over the more traditional physical record sales; a malaise in keeping up with new sounds, production techniques & equipment; and a general tiredness with the lifestyle involved in working within the industry.
