In 1988 & 1989 i fucking hated dance music. I'd only been exposed to lame comercial acts. Then one night in 1990 i went to see Ozric Tentacles at Club Dogs 5th Birthday Bash, an all nigher at The Rocket in London. Eat Static were on the bill, a band i'd never heard before. It was a techno live act made up from the drummer (Merv Pepler) and the keyboard player (Joie Hinton) from Ozrics. Poison Electric Head, Ozric Tentacles and Eat Static was the line up. The night featured live acts and DJ's and fantastic light shows. Back then i was more of an acid head and Eat Static blew my fucking mind. Eat Static converted me to dance music. Unbelievable live.

After 10-15 years of listening to techno, Eat Static's is the one name that's stuck with me from the beginning to the end.
They are just brilliant, with an obvious love and talent for music, energy, fun, creativity etc. I just hope I get to see them live before they decide to do something else!
Techno Flavoured Ozric Tentacles. I credit these guys with pioneering many of the directions in which Psy Trance has followed. The original Techno aliens. Big respect!
Their blistering live performance must be experienced.
