Belgian singer/performer, born in Zelzate on July 12, 1932. During his lengthy career he recorded more than 500 songs and is still performing to this date. There's probably not a single Flemish person who hasn't heard at least one of his tunes. His biggest hit in Belgium and Holland was "Chérie", which went double platinum. He has also performed in several large countries, among which China, U.S.A. and the former U.S.S.R.
