Gap Band, The

Profile:
Disco - funk - soul music sibling trio

Gained legendary status with their 15 albums in total all through '70s and '80s with their heavily-charged dance anthems and their sentimental and ethereal love songs.
First formed by their father, Pentecostal minister, Ronnie Wilson, as the Greenwood, Archer and Pine Street Band in 1967 in their hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. They collaborated with Lonnie Simmons extensively and they had their biggest hits (""I Don't Believe You Want to Get Up and Dance (Oops!)", "Burn Rubber On Me", "Outstanding", "Early In The Morning", "You Dropped A Bomb On Me", "I Found My Baby" etc) first at Mercury and then at Total Experience Records.
