After purchasing so many techno records over the years, I would honestly say that Glenn Wilson has never let, me personally, down. Without any doubt in my mind, He is one of maybe five or so producers that consistantly brings it to table. The recording and fidelity of his material, is second to none. He might very well be the godfather of complex structure and code along with the likes of C.lekebusch, A.Beyer, and everyone else that spawned off of his early lables. No disrespect to Jeff Mills, by the way. The Vessels, Heroes, and early P-Rhythm workings, are the type of albums that will forever have a strong hold on intense and aggressive techno. Bottom Line: If you have or a looking a Glenn Wilson production, treat it like a sunday hot rod that sees daylight a couple times a year.

I will play devil's advocate, here. First, hats off to Glenn Wilson. He's definitely been around long enough and, yes, his productions are off the hook and plentiful. It almost doesn't get any more twisted.

I am wondering if the justifications for the claim of "best producer" actually support that notion. All positive statements about him are true, but to say that he is the absolute best overall (at least in techno) may be kinda risky.

If I take Glenn's top 3 tracks of all time ( I do not claim to be the judge of that) and compare them to the top 3 tracks of at least 8 other techno producers, I am willing to bet that, in an independent survey of techno DJs, one of the other producers may come out on top (winning out over Glenn on at least one track proves my point). Candidates include: Cari Lekebusch, Adam Beyer, Joel Mull, Chris Liebing, Speedy J, Oliver Ho, Patrik Skoog and Andrei Morant. Considering the company, I wouldn't want to take that bet.

Not Detroit Techno at all. Minimal, yes in some instances but all in all Glenn Wilson is a master of Hard Techno. One of my five favorite musicians of all time! In my opinion Glenn is responsible for keeping possitive aspects of Hard Techno alive. He inovates his own style while keeping many of the classic qualitys alive. Glenn Wilson has only gotten better and better with time, keep it up dude!

Glenn Wilson is without doubt the best Producer of hard Techno. In terms of quality and quantity he's in his own league. All of his records have at least 1 track that rocks the house down. The same can't be said for the other big name's who it seems are just in it for the money.
